I had the privilege of working on the concept, layout, pre-vis, and camera animation for the main and end title sequences of the Percy Jackson sequel. This work was produced under the direction of Richie Adams, creative director and owner of River Road Creative. Lighting, texturing, and compositing was executed by the talented folks at Atomic Fiction (now Method Studios).

The idea for the intro presentation titles was that our POV camera was emerging from the depths of this huge monster-infested sea and discovering titles for the film along the way. These titles, made up of bioluminescent particulate, would dissipate as the camera got close to them.
Rough geo was only intended to be visual cues for the camera to pass, but as development progressed, the sequence relied on specific timing and much of the “temp” geo was kept and embellished with bespoke models such as rocks, kelp, and a couple of glorious sea beasts.
